The Concert Chorus of Miami Northwestern Senior High School was noted not only for it's many and varied stage performances but for it's renditions of literature from various different periods of music during the nine years leading up to 1969 when this historic album was recorded. To it's credit, it had presented "Maritana," "The Sound Of Music," The Mikado," "The King And I" and "Annie Get Your Gun." The chorus received superior ratings at state and local festivals for the entire group presentations as well as for performances by soloists and by the vocal ensemble. Cassandria Hanna, the accompanist, was a graduate of St. Augustine University and was the chorus director at Drew Junior High School at the time of this recording. Arthur L. Evans, the conductor at the time of this recording, had been directing the chorus for 13 years. He was a graduate of Morehouse College and Columbia University. He had served as choir director and accompanist for leading churches along the east coast. Although their repertoire included classic musicals and theater pieces, this historic chorus was especially adept in the gospel music field as this vintage recording so obviously suggests. Originally released in 1969, the classic LP "Ringing Echoes - 1969" is presented here newly remastered for this exclusive release. .
