Jiddische Stikele - Jewish Songs from the Prague Ghetto

The Jewish ghetto in Prague was a lively, colorful center for Jewish life in central Europe. Music and song are deeply embedded in the culture, and are part not only of religious practice, but of every day life as well. This is a collection of mostly Yiddish folk songs. Songs for weddings, parties and worship are featured here, all song in Yiddish as well as the local dialect spoken by Czech Jews.
