"Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert" is an innovative film by Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated director Paul Dugdale that captures the magic and epic power of Hans Zimmer's music in a unique cinematic experience. The music film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray by Sony Classical. "Hans Zimmer & Friends: Diamond in the Desert" is much more than a traditional concert film. In the film, Hans Zimmer's most popular and best-known film soundtracks are brought to life by him, his band and an orchestra at extraordinary venues in breathtaking scenes: from the dunes of the Arabian Desert to the heights of the Burj Al Arab, from the spectacular Al Wasl Plaza dome in Expo City to the iconic Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Hans Zimmer and his fellow musicians will perform new live versions of some of his greatest hits, including songs from Dune, Gladiator, Interstellar, The Lion King and Inception. In addition to Zimmer himself, the 18-piece band includes musical director Nick Glennie-Smith (keyboard/piano/accordion), Lebo Morake (vocals - The Lion King), Judith Sephuma (vocals), Pedro Eustache (wind instruments), Lisa Gerrard (vocals - Gladiator), Loire Cotler (vocals - Dune), Juan Garcia-Herreros (electric bass), Guthrie Govan (guitar), Aleksandra Šuklar (percussion), Holly Madge Jaspal (drums), Aicha Djidjelli (drums), Steven Doar (keyboards/percussion), Tina Guo (cello), Andy Pask (bass/e-bass), Rusanda Panfili (violin), Leah Zeger (violin/vocals), Molly Rogers (violin/vocals) and Nile Marr (guitar). In addition to the musical highlights, interviews with Billie Eilish, Sir Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, Finneas, Jerry Bruckheimer, Johnny Marr, Pharrell Williams, Tanya Lapointe, Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya are included. These provide rare insights into Hans Zimmer's creative process, his motivation for producing music and the stories behind his closest artistic collaborations. Legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer serves as executive producer. DVD with a running time of 158 minutes, without bonus material, with the audio formats Dolby Stereo 48 kHz and DTS 5.1.
