When a colleague commits suicide under a cloud of suspected treason, researcher Henry Longman (Dirk Bogarde) determines to prove his friend the victim of brainwashing... by undergoing controversial sensory deprivation and mind control experiments himself. Will this gambit, however, threaten his marriage... if not his very sanity?
