It'd been eight years since activist Walid Badri (Saleh Bakri) and his singer spouse Soraya (Nadine Labaki) took their family off the grid for a pastoral existence at a mountainside farmhouse outside Beirut. The idyll ended when the trash crisis-slammed government blasted a landfill at their literal doorstep-and left the clan scrambling for recourse.
