The Inheritance (aka Uncle Silas)

Jean Simmons is terrific as the beautiful young Caroline, who goes to live with her guardian uncle, Uncle Silas (De Marney) and his equally evil son and mistress attempt to do away with her, for her inheritance, inside a gloomy old mansion. There are lots of chilling moments in this good old-fashioned gothic horror thriller.
