At age 13, Aviva decides it is time for her to have a baby. When she becomes pregnant, her mother (Ellen Barkin) forces Aviva to have an abortion, the consequences of which begin a uniquely American odyssey for the girl-who is portrayed by seven different actresses (of various ages, ethnicities, and sizes) and one actor-in this daring, provocative comedy/drama of moral complexities from writer/director Todd Solondz.
