Spinning out after losing his paralegal job, Sam (Matthew Shear, who wrote and directed) got tossed a lifeline by his shrink (Judd Hirsch)-a gig helping his depressed actress daughter-in-law Dianne (Amanda Peet) wrangle her three kids. The year spent as he struggles to get a handle on being the adult in the room, and keeping it professional with a boss he's falling for, is limned in this charming dramedy.
