The Invite

The friction in the marriage of San Francisco music teacher Joe (Seth Rogen) and wife Angela (Olivia Wilde, who directed) wasn't much helped by her asking inscrutable upstairs neighbors Piña (Penélope Cruz) and Hawk (Edward Norton) down for dinner that evening. While Joe gradually warms to the enigmatic couple, neither he nor Angela were prepped for the nature of the jaw-dropping return invitation they were tendered, in this compelling re-do of the 2020 Spanish farce Sentimental. 107 min.
