Camarillo Social Club Biography Band Members: Cougar Estrada, Roberto Zendejas, Jimi Chastain and Bobby Estrada got together and formed Camarillo Social Club in May 2007. Cougar Estrada being a major factor in this band. Called on each member to get together and play music with no laws, so to say. Experimental, have fun music, garage jam band with no limits on where the creativity would take them. After a year of rehearsal decided to perform live. Only performing two shows, both at a small venue in Oxnard, CA. which no longer exist (Experi-mental Cafe). The band performed music from Cougar Estrada's prior productions: Conga Punks 'Music's Genre Defiance' CD and Cougar Estrada solo CD 'Firefly.' After playing there last show on May 5, 2008. Camarillo Social Club decided to record an original product and not perform live anywhere. Most of the year 2008 and beginning of 2009 was spent in recording studio. Camarillo Social Club has finished there CD 'Let's' which will debut in Nov.2009. Songs composed by Cougar Estrada (except for 'Green and Blue' co-written Roberto Zendejas) Camarillo Social Club's music consists of originality, team work, patience, and excepting everything and equality in everyone's music ability. Camarillo Social Club highlights the song writing of Cougar Estrada from Camarillo CA. Cougar has performed with many musicians locally in Ventura County and has received national recognition by playing drums with his father and uncles band The Estrada Brothers. Roberto Zendejas comes out of Oakland CA. after residing in Ventura CA. for many years now, playing Rhythm and Blues and at one time in the late 60's played with an opening act for Jimi Hendrix and The Experience, while the Hells Angels did security. Roberto recalls, he was saddened he couldn't stay to watch Hendrix due to a prior commitment to attend (another gig). Roberto found himself later moving to Southern California playing in Santa Paula CA. with The Nava Brothers and also The Estrada Brothers from time to time in Ventura County CA. On Roberto's time off he likes to paint and he currently has paintings on consignment in some high end art galleries in Ojai CA. Jimi Chastain from Camarillo CA. found himself performing at Silver Strand Beach in Oxnard CA. in the late 90's and has performed/recorded with Ska Daddyz (Oxnard based band). Hanging out with The Estrada Brothers on many gigs Jimi's has learned on the road so to say. Jimi is known for his punk rock style of bass playing and experimental sounds. Always, looking to create new ideas. Bobby Estrada from Oxnard to Camarillo CA. Bobby has a huge history coming from being the second drummer in The Estrada Brothers Band 1957 to 1984 (Brother Ruben being the first, then nephew Cougar took the chair in 1984). Playing many weddings, casuals, birthday parties, concerts etc... in Ventura County to Los Angeles. Recording a 45 ep, with The Estrada Brothers in 1974 and on Gary Lefebvre's album'Another Time, Another Place.' Bobby decided to venture on to his own in 1984. Sitting in on percussion with local bands in Ventura CA. up to Los Angeles CA. In May 2007, Bobby found himself playing drums again in Camarillo Social Club. Bobby Estrada is one of Cougars teachers when it comes music. Bobby has peformed many shows throught his life and there's something to be said and heard being the oldest founding member of Camarillo Social Club.
