Andy Brasher is a singer/songwriter/performer from Owensboro, Kentucky. Andy has been writing songs since the age of 10 and playing guitar since age 14. He comes from a family steeped in musical tradition and grew up around jam sessions that his father and uncles would have. He slapped his hands on his knees until he picked up a couple of guitar chords from dad, then there was no looking back. Andy has logged MILES!!! playing in bars, clubs and coffeehouses for the last 10 years; including a recent East Coast tour, the Midpoint Music Fest in Cincinnatti and the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. Over the years, Andy has accumulated a repertoire of over 200 original compositions and an extensive bank of cover music in most styles. Andy has released the recordings Crows and Buzzards,Crows and Buzzards Bonus Disc and White Trash Totem Pole Volumes 1,2, and 3 with the band White Trash Totem Pole. Most recently Brasher recorded and release a collection of songs co-written with Nashville partner Dustin Bogue. This newest CD was released July 2009, called the Brasher/Bogue Project. ***** "Crows and Buzzards", the album by Andy Brasher, released January 2007 to great reviews. The CD has been received with much praise and tremendous local and regional attention. It is a blend of styles executed with an acoustic brand of southern soul and edgy lyrical content. *****Since the release of Crows and Buzzards, Andy has grabbed the attention of music industry pros and his fan base has spread across the U.S. and even includes fans from overseas. The Crows and Buzzards Bonus Disc includes all eleven original tracks of Crows and Buzzards and adds four bonus tracks: Crows and Buzzards (with band), Make It For You (with band), Valley of Stone (with band), Indian (with band). These bonus tracks are full band arrangements of some of the most popular and requested songs off the original album. All previous versions were raw, acoustic performances with few overdubs. The four new tracks are more produced versions of the song that developed while performing the songs with Andy's band Ten Pound Pie after the original Crows and Buzzards was released. Andy performs solo acoustic shows as well as performing with bands Ten Pound Pie, The Loose Cannons, and White Trash Totem Pole. On average Andy books about 192 shows a year in various venues and in various forms.
