Wan Yeung (Ngai Wan Yeung) comes from Hong Kong. He began playing the Pipa when he was twelve. He became the champion of Student Chinese Instrumentalists in Hong Kong in 2006 and the champion of Student Pipa soloists in 2007. He is currently studying music at a college in California and is working towards a degree in music therapy. Many of the pieces featured on this CD (Restoration) have origins dating back more than a thousand years. The Pipa itself dates back over two thousand years.
