Review Text '77 '78 '79 is the Bollock Brothers' attempt at compiling their favorite covers along with special celebrity guest stars (such as Billy Idol and members of the Sex Pistols and Killing Joke). The Who, Gary Glitter, and even the Beatles get the Bollock Brothers treatment, in addition to the Pistols. All of this would be interesting if the band deliberately twisted the covers in original ways (such as on their Pistols cover album, Never Mind the Bollocks '83, in which Pistols classics were recast with cheap synthesizers), but here the covers, apart from some added words, are played straight (which, in Bollock Brothers terms, means bellowing out the lyrics to sloppy punk accompaniment). Even the addition of the special guests adds nothing, since it's impossible to hear where exactly they appear. Apart from a couple of nicely energetic performances (mainly Alex Harvey's "Midnight Moses" and the only original here, "Count Dracula (Where's Ya Troosers)") '77 '78 '79 is forgettable. ~ Victor W. Valdivia
