LINE UP Liz Green: vocals/lyrics, Andrew Stock: synths/programming, Chris Kiefer: synths/programming BEGINNINGS Andrew Stock and Liz Green, two club DJs from Brighton, got together 3 years ago to form their own electronic musical project; Swarf. After a little time spent writing and playing some local gigs, a chance meeting at the Glastonbury festival with techno artist Chris Kiefer saw the line up swell to 3. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS After their debut London gig at the Camden Underworld Swarf were approached by the small independent label ?Wasp Factory? and released the ?Fall? ep. Which sold out quickly, but still fills club dance floors throughout Europe and America. Gigging extensively throughout the UK, Swarf have also played the Convergence festival in Montreal Canada and three times at the Belgian Eurorock festival. It was here, that they were approached by producer Jose Alvarez-Brill. This resulted in a Swarf remix of electronic band ?De/Vision? finding it's way into the German national charts on their album ?Remixed?. The mix was also chosen for the four track DJ promo for the album. Overhearing Swarf while recording at Cryonica studios in London, Marc Heal (ex frontman with Cubanate, producer and head of Punish productions) offered to produce some tracks in his studio at the Fortress in Old street. This is ongoing. As a result of him witnessing their last Eurorock performance, Swarf were asked to play as main support to the legendary Pioneer of electronic music ?John Foxx? on his recent UK tour. Swarf have been played on the UK?s Radio 1. They are also played regularly on numerous Internet radio shows, including ?Total Rock? radio. Swarf were featured on a regional news programme about Brighton's diversity. COLLABORATIONS In addition to De/Vision, Swarf have also remixed an Epsilon Minus track for their ?Mark II? album. Liz has provided lyrics and vocals for tracks on the Greenhaus album; ?Another Nightlife?, Freudstein's ?Mondo Freudo? and on the forthcoming Attrition album. Liz has also provided vocals for electronic band ?Digitalis?. Chris has remixed a track for ?D.U.S.T.? COMPILATIONS Swarf have contributed tracks to Wasp Factory's ?Working with Children and Animals II?, Cryonica Record's ?Cryotank? and BLC Productions ?Interbreeding Industrial Cyberlords?. RELATED All three members of the band are DJs. Liz and Andrew have been promoting and DJing at Brighton's ?Lowlife? club, for several years. They have also guested at various London clubs. Chris DJs Psy-trance and has his own musical side project, ?Chaosphere?. WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID ?From their first electro-note, the crowd were eating out of their hands? veering from trance into pure pop, with some melting, solid rhythms keeping the whole thing throbbing. SWARF succeed where so many others fail, they have created the almost perfect dancefloor tune? From my position right down at the stage, I turn and look over the crowd, and dammit but *everyone* is dancing, right the way to the back. The seating area at the rear of the venue is emptying as more people hurry down to the front, to experience this coolest of grooves?
