Review Text
THE SONGS: 'A Confident Man' was written for her son who received orders to be deployed into Operation Iraqi Freedom. It shows the closeness and honesty of their relationship. 'Yesterday's Tomorrow' was written to reflect grief recovery from a mother who lost a child in war, lifting herself up with positive encouragement, spiritual awakening, in order to continue with life. Her interpretation and arrangement of the Negro Spiritual, 'Motherless Child' conveys the grief of a mother who lost a son in war, her deceased son crying out in harmony to console her, also howling to return to her. The percussion is a combination of North American Indian gourds and military snare. 'Leaders of the Earth' was written from imagined eyes of an alien, or spirit, looking down at the earth in disappointment because of all the greed, lies and corruption occurring on the earth in politics, corporations, etc., and suggests for positive changes to occur. If you know any parent who is suffering from worry, grief, etc., please recommend this CD to them, it is for them.
