Originally from Carroll County, Virginia, the Stone man family moved to the Washington, DC area during the Depression, where they continued to play old-time music after harsh economic conditions cut short Ernest "Pop" Stone man's recording career for Okeh and Edison. This album features tunes and songs from Pop, Mrs. Stone man, and their children.
