Review Text Stanley Durbin was born and raised in Washington DC. some call it the D.M.V.(District, Maryland, Virginia) Stanley started singing at the age of twelve, in Woodson Jr. High. Stanley met Charles Simpson, and they formed a group with Glenn E. Ford, Darryl Ferguson, and Michell Macdonaldson, which they called the black connection. After the group disbanded, Stanley kept on trying to get into the business. Alpha is the result and his first solo project. Stanley's influences are many, the first being Earth Wind and Fire, the Unifics from D.C. The Fathers Children from Wash D.C. Donny and Laylah Hathaway, The Moments, America, Bob James, Yes, Pink Floyd, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Kansas, Ojay's, Original Temptations, Minnie Ripperton, Jean Carn, and so many more. Stanley's take on life is that love is universal, and then find peace, there is more to life than what your five senses digest, there are things in the universe that we need to be aware of seek peace, seek love.
