Review Text
This DIY freshman effort shows evidence of great things to come from Slider. Brilliantly crafted, insightful and surprisingly advanced for a debut, the album takes the listener for a creative ride. An attentive ear will notice the bands progression from a pop-driven, four on the floor writing style, rooted in 90's alternative, to a more modern and progressive rock style, drawing from a more diverse array of influences. Lyrically, the album follows the same progression from adolescent-esque heartache and personal struggle to more thoughtful themes of anti-commercialism as well as critiques of pop-culture ideology and pressures, namely on the American youth. Their work is extremely marketable but moreover, it is genuine. With this exciting new album, fueled by their magnetic stage shows, Slider has constructed a solid platform for increased success.
