Primarily a stage actress, Siobhan McKenna starred in many motion pictures and appeared on television and radio beginning in the late 1940's. She is best remembered for her performances at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin where she eventually starred in the George Bernard Shaw play, Saint Joan, which is considered to be her best performance. She debuted on Broadway in 1955 in the Chalk Garden for which she received a Tony award for Best Actress in a leading role.
