Hailing from a world of cinematic extremes, Rudy Adrian's new release Atmospheres summons the very mystical elements of the land that inspires him - New Zealand. Nine tracks of slowly evolving, densely construed floating melodies of harmonically rich synthesizer pads, natural ambiences and dramatic percussive punctuations evoke the otherworldly treasures and solemn meditations of such a wondrous, haunting place. Reminiscent of subtler, true ambient works by masters like Steve Roach or Brian Eno, Atmospheres dwells in the landscape of expansiveness and introspection, a space music of the internal kind.
