Review Text
Rich Man's Burden represents the full-band sound of Jeremy Serwer, who has toured the U.S. as a solo acoustic performer or with other acts for the past ten years. Originally formed in 2000, the band has faded in and out of consciousness with various lineup changes, Jeremy's touring adventures and member relocations. Andy Clapp (bass) has been involved in the project the longest, starting in 2001. The most recent addition, in early 2005, was Jess Goodwin on drums. Steeped in acoustic blues, rock and soul the band's sound has somewhat found it's equilibrium; or at least a semi-permanent resting point. The album Whispers is the first recorded album for the band. Although it includes a few tracks from the early days, many of the songs were developed with the most recent lineup or reworked. Guest appearances on the album include Ben Haynor on guitar, the voices of Jenni and Amanda Price, Jenn Dashney on Vocals and original RMB member Ali Ippolito on piano.
