Rice Drewry is a Memphis-born singer/songwriter with a myriad of influences, including Elvis, the Beatles, James Taylor, John Mellencamp and Tom Petty among others. This variety of exposures help him create songs with different flavors melded together with an acoustic rock / adult contemporary style. He has been active in Memphis Songwriters for over 10 years and enjoys collaborating and playing with fellow songwriters and musicians. He wrote 5 songs for the debut CD by the Memphis band Tumblin' Sneakers, released in 1999 and completed a solo CD entitled 'When You Smile' in 2006. Another tune ("Mr. Jenkins' ) penned by him appeared on the Flying Memphis CD, a collection of songs from Memphis area artists and songwriters. He has contributed to a Christmas compilation with an original Christmas tune benefitting a local ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease) chapter as well. He is constantly learning and honing his songwriting craft. Rice's current project entitled "Thousand Shades of Gray" has just been completed and available on CDBaby. It features eleven flavorful tunes with something for everyone.
