Milan, 1945: While fruitlessly hunting for his missing wife and son, ex-Resistance fighter Davide Pavia (Michele Riondino) discovered a group of Jewish children repatriated from Germany's camps with no families to return to. Joining with a few colleagues to transform an abandoned estate into a rehabilitative home, their efforts to reclaim these damages souls are recounted in this fact-inspired miniseries.
