For more than 200 years, Mount Stewart House on Strangford Lough was the luxurious summer home of one of the most influential political and landowning dynasties in Ireland, but now it is a scene of faded grandeur. As the National Trust embarks on a massive, three-year project to repair and restore not only the fabric of the house but also it's internal decor and it's many treasures, The Big House Reborn, a six-part series, follows the work of the conservators and tells the story of the life and times of Mount Stewart.
