Randall Hawes - Barn Burner

This recording was made in 2008 and 2009. Recorded in the Music Box at Orchestra Hall, Detroit and the Warner concert hall Oberlin College, Ohio. Recording engineer for Barn Burner was Paul Eachus. Paul is the engineer who is a former bass trombonist and was the engineer on the first CD I recorded, Melodrama. Paul recorded both of Gerry Pagano's CD's; 'Connections' and 'Departure' as well as John Rojak's 'The Romantic Bass Trombone'. Collaborating with Randall on this recording are three very fine musicians. Kathryn Goodson, pianist, Brian Jones, percussionist and Gabe Bolkowsky, violin. Randall Hawes joined the Detroit Symphony as bass trombonist in 1986. He studied with William Rivard at Central Michigan University where he received a Bachelor of Music Education. He has performed with many orchestras, including those of Kalamazoo, Chicago, Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Boston and the World Orchestra for Peace.
