UK reissue. Pure Prairie League is an American country rock band formed in Waverly, Ohio in 1970 by singer and guitarist Craig Fuller with drummer Tom McGrail, guitarist and drummer Jim Caughlan, and steel guitar artist John David Call. The band is named after a fictional 19th century temperance union featured in the 1939 Errol Flynn cowboy film Dodge City. Pure Prairie League had five consecutive Top 40 LPs in the 1970s and added a sixth in the 1980s. Firin' Up was their ninth studio album released in 1980 and includes their biggest hit "Let Me Love You Tonight" which reached #10 on the Billboard singles chart. Janis Gill of Sweethearts Of The Rodeo sang backing vocals on the record and her partner Vince Gill played banjo, fiddle and guitar.
