Y&T Music is proud to announce a limited-edition CD release of "Gwent Gardens," a new Pete Ham album of previously unreleased home demos. "Gwent Gardens" is being released with the support of the Pete Ham Estate and is full of the beautiful melodies and universal lyrics that Pete is well known for, Composed on either guitar or piano/keyboards between 1966 and 1972, most of the 18 songs on this new collection have never been heard before by the public. There are still some demo versions of his well-known tunes that were eventually recorded and released by Badfinger. This special release is due to the tireless efforts of the late Dan Matovina, who has spent decades keeping Pete Ham's legacy alive and thriving. Dan would be very pleased to know that his desire to get all of Pete's unreleased songs out for the public to enjoy is being fulfilled by his team of close friends and associates. To quote Dan's close friend, Tom Brennan, one of the last things he told him was, "I can't believe there are still so many great Pete Ham songs that no one has heard yet." With the release of "Gwent Gardens," Dan's greatest wish is now a reality. Pete Ham is best known as the founding member of Badfinger, the first act signed to The Beatles' new label, Apple Records, back in 1968. Pete's classic songs include "Day After Day," "Baby Blue," "No Matter What" and the all-time pop standard, "Without You," which was co-written by Badfinger's Tom Evans. 2023 also saw the release of a special Pete Ham tribute album, titled "Shine On - A Tribute to Pete Ham." (84356316405) The album featured 35 artists covering all of Pete's compositions that were recorded by Badfinger; including Shelby Lynne, Dan Baird, Melanie, Mary Lou Lord, Wreckless Eric & Amy Rigby, Dennis Diken, Stan Lynch & The Speaker Wars, Amy Allison and many more. The album benefited the Southeast Florida branch of Mental Health America and is still available for a limited time.
