Nicolai Ghiaurov was an opera singer from Bulgaria who rose to become one of the predominant bass singers of the 20th Century. He performed alongside virtually all of opera's superstars, including Pavaroti, Sutherland, Domingo, Tebaldi, Corelli, Caballe.
