Prior to his departure from Moscow, Russian investigator Andrei becomes embroiled in the violent murder of his closest friend and chief of police. Once in Los Angeles with his wife, tango dancer Rachel, he stumbles upon a diamond smuggling operation, quickly realizing that life in America is not what he had hoped for.
