With Maxine's eagerly anticipated Cleethorpes gig this summer we reviewed her Wand output and discovered the magnificent Ashford & Simpson dancer 'I Want A Guarantee' had never been out on a 45: say no more. The flip is a beautiful crossover ballad from the Platters' lead singer Sonny Turner whose 'Now That You're Gone' recorded in 1972, really gets under the skin. Captivating, pure soul.
