Both works were a farsa - a one-act form that was not necessarily comic. Cecchina in fact belongs to the 'sentimental' genre of then newly successful novels; with comedy traditionally confined to a few scenes featuring a pair of bass characters: The action centres on a love-affair made difficult by social differences between the soprano Cecchina; a young woman also from Savoy who has made her fortune on the streets of the French capital; and the tenor Enrico; a noble disguised as a penniless painter. The basic plot is the same one which Rossi would later propose to Donizetti with Linda di Chamounix (1842).\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Bongiovanni","offers":[{"title":"New \/ CD \/ Cecchina Suonatrice Di Ghironda Bongiovanni","offer_id":48541761601844,"sku":"BON2607\/8-2.2","price":39.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0790\/7436\/1652\/files\/4408942-3332436.jpg?v=1768325083","url":"https:\/\/www.fye.com\/products\/iolanda-massimo-cecchina-suonatrice-di-ghironda_aec-bon2607-8-2-2","provider":"FYE","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
