Gary Bonds - Twist Up Calypso

Digitally re-mastered edition of this 1962 album. After scoring a successful hit single with 'Dear Lady Twist', Gary US Bonds and his producer Frank Guida opted to record a complete album of calypso music. Whilst the exercise could have worn thin after a couple of tracks, the pair pull off the task with aplomb; Gary's own exuberance and Guida's tight production ensure the album retains the spirit and feel as well as the excitement from start to finish. The standout tracks are the afore mentioned 'Dear Lady Twist', 'Twist Twist Senora' and 'Day-O'.
