Don't Kill My Groove - The Complete Duke Singles 1964 to 1970 - Great great work from the mighty Ernie K Doe - a legendary New Orleans singer who's best known for a few big hits - but who steps out here on some overlooked singles for Duke Records from the 60s! This material's not nearly as well known as Doe's records for the Minit and Instant label - and the cuts show Ernie to be a hell of a singer with an even deeper range than we knew before - not just the familiar Crescent City grooves, but also some slow-burning southern soul styles that are totally great! Given that Duke was the home of Bobby Blue Bland and Junior Parker, Doe gets some great treatment throughout - and the collection's a very important look at these lost years when Ernie may have hit his greatest heights ever. Titles include "Gotta Pack My Bag", "Until The Real Thing Comes Along", "Don't Kill My Groove", "Boomerang", "Little Bit Of Everything", "Looking Into The Future", "How Sweet You Are", "Little Marie", and "Later For Tomorrow". © 1996-2016, Dusty Groove, Inc.
