His first major success was "I'm Wise" which Little Richard renamed "Slippin' & Slidin'" and made it into a rock and roll classic. Eddie's recordings stand up and still sound fantastic up to 60 years after they were recorded. Other notable tracks include "Check Mr. Popeye" the first major recording devoted to the New Orleans invented dance craze the Popeye.
