Dick Dale - Surfer's Choice

Dick Dale is credited as the inventor of the instrumental surf music style and the primary influence on surf guitar. The breakneck speed of his single-note staccato picking technique was unrivalled. With his band the Del-Tones (including piano, guitars, bass, drums and saxophone), Dale's early 1960s records sparked the surf music craze on the U.S. West Coast, and his guitar playing influenced hundreds of other musicians. He also pioneered the use of portable reverb effects, creating a signature sonic texture for the Sixties' music. This quintessential release presents Dale's magnificent debut album, Surfer's Choice, which was originally issued by the Deltone label in 1962. It was one of the first LPs to feature a surfer (Dale himself) on the cover. This remastered collector's edition also contains 10 bonus tracks, most of them consisting of hard to find sides from the same period. Hoodoo.
