Billy Higgins has played with Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Jackie McLean, Art Pepper and Dexture Gorden, and has been an integral part of the recording career of influential modern jazz icon Ornette Coleman. On this CD, Higgins has surrounded himself with top-flight players who are also friends: Cedar Walton (piano), Harold Land (tenor sax), Oscar Brashear (trumpet) and David Williams (bass).
