The music on this CD was inspired by places in Ulster County, NY where I have a summer house near the Ashokan Reservoir. In 2012 i had a small project studio built on the property. Everyday that August I went into the studio and wrote a piece based on a place in the Catskills, the Shawangunks or another spot in the area that is inspiring. There is something spiritual about this part of New York that goes beyond what is visible to the eye. If you spend time there and pay attention, you feel it. Hopefully some of that feeling comes through in the music on this disc. Peter Calandra is a New York City-based composer and keyboard player.
