Review Text
Michael Stadler was raised in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, A sparsely populated, starkly beautiful place, the U.P. is bordered by Lake Superior, empty sand beaches, and nearly unbroken expanses of forest. Life there requires perseverance and luck, since, as in many rural areas, underemployment is a given. That's why one of the area's chief exports is people. A resident of the San Francsico Bay Area for over 20 years, Michael is one such export. He began playing music at the age of 6 and never found a reason to stop. His music is emotionally vibrant and his own songs, while performed in styles identified as country or folk or Americana, are steeped in a sense of his home and people. This is his long awaited first album. '... all-round musician Michael Stadler (one hell of a country singer).' Laurie Lewis, Bluegrass luminary, Grammy nominee, International Bluegrass Music Association Vocalist of the Year '... a haunting, rhythmic tour de force.' Acoustic Guitar magazine.
