Review Text
This album is the first album from the band Megofna. Band members: Jay Taylor, Brian Earl Jenkins and Billy Megofna. For years each member has enjoyed the pleasure of playing countless gigs, playing with everyone in every genre of music. This album was conceived differently than most bands these days. Most bands rehearse songs and then immediately try to find gigs to help promote themselves. The band Megofna chose a different path. For ONE year we got together every Monday night, listened to music, learned from our heros and wrote songs. We only focused on the songwriting process. Through trial an error, we compiled a list of nine songs to record. The following two years were spent recording and mixing. We are everyday people with everyday lives. No financial backing, no major connections to famous people, just true music lovers. We grew up listening to albums. Dark Side of The Moon from start to finish. 'Dirt' by Alice In Chains from start to finish. 'Amorica' by The Black Crowes from start to finish. Listening to an album from beginning to end has become a lost art. The challenge in creating this album was to create a musical journey for those who like to listen to albums without alienating people who like to download one or two singles from artists.
