Rilassarsi means "to relax" in Italian. (Pronounced 'REE-lahr-SAHR-see') This CD series is aimed at quiet moments by composer Mark McLelland. It is perfect for meditation, massage, sleep, yoga, or any other time you just want to relax and drift off to another place. The compositions feature piano, oboe, violins, and acoustic guitar. Let Rilassarsi take you away. The CD includes 12 tracks of music with a quiet rain and thunder storm playing continuously underneath the music. The CD ends with four minutes of the storm slowly fading off into the distance. The 12 music tracks are just over 60 minutes in running length. The total CD running length is over 66 minutes. This CD was composed and arranged with a 1 hour massage or relaxation session in mind. The extra six minutes of time is perfect for that wind down time before rejoining the real world. My goal was to make an album that was perfect for relaxation. As I started work on the compositions it was more difficult than I imagined to keep things under control. As a musician it is natural to want to increase tempos and dynamics to add interest to the composition; but it was these very elements that often changed the mood of the music to the point of jarring me back to reality. After many revisions and re-mixes I believe I have delivered on the goal of a totally relaxing and dream immersing music album. After listening, I hope you agree.
