Review Text
Greek tenor Mario Frangoulis presents a tribute to the famous tenor of the '50s, Mario Lanza. Frangoulis, after two years of studying Lanza's repertoire and in close co-operation with the tenor's family, gave two concerts with Lanza's repertoire: At Moscow and at the Theatre of Herodes Atticus in Athens, with the famous Russian Orchestra, OSSIPOV. The spirit of those concerts is reflected on his new studio album Passione, which was recorded at the Pavel Slobotkin Center in Moscow with Vladimir Ponkin as conductor. Sony BMG. 2008.
