'There is a reason why the Pilgrim's Progress continues to touch the hearts of millions. It's timeless message grabs it's readers and leads them to the foot of the Cross. Jim Winder, like millions of others, has fallen passionately in love with Bunyan because he shares a passionate love for Bunyan's Savior. In his latest CD, Jim has put Bunyan's classic to music, excellent music. This is a labor of love, told with beauty and tenderness, courage and passion, refined by struggles and bathed in prayer. In an age where the culture scoffs that life is meaningless, Jim shows us that it can be a journey to glory. And when so much of our evangelical culture treats this journey as a pain-free sprint, Jim bravely points us back to the Scriptural teaching that it is a marathon, filled with doubts, dragons and burdens. But we are not alone. This CD is a faithful guide for our pilgrim's journey, the hard but right way. John Bunyan would love it!' Pastor Ray Canatta, Grace Community Church, Bridgewater NJ Acacia John Bunyan Web Site: This CD is so nicely done! The music and the presentation are not only Scripturally edifying, which is all important, but the lyrics and music style are tender and beautiful. As a true pilgrim demonstrates in a life fully surrendered, Jim Winder's message and music has 'followed HIM, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.' (Luke 18:43) This CD is a credit to John Bunyan's love of the Lord Jesus, to 'Come, take up the cross, and follow ME.' (Mark 10:21) Marquis Laughlin, Fellowship for the Performing Arts 'Jim Winder is a remarkably gifted artist whose music penetrates and enriches the soul. His music draws you in and keeps you there.' 'The Hard But Right Way' live program is a compelling and moving dramatic performance of a great classic Christian story that's message is able to transcend to today's audiences of the hope we all can find in Christ. The presence of God stirred the hearts and minds of many of our guests at our annual Son Shine Festival through the passionate storytelling, creative visuals and beautifully scripted music of Jim Winder. The Film Cafe Ministry Grace Bible Church of Pompton Plains, NJ The Broken Bread Coffee House recently hosted Jim Winder who performed his program, 'The Hard but Right Way-A Pilgrim's Journey.' A work based on John Bunyan's 'Pilgrim's Progress.' Both Jim's musical performance and story-telling were wonderful. Jim's songs, played on acoustic guitar are warm and inviting. His songwriting skills are excellent and his singing voice puts you in mind of James Taylor, though Jim has his own unique style, not derivative of anyone. Jim's terrific music was blended seamlessly with his retelling of the story of pilgrim's journey through the land of darkness and temptation to his final destination. Jim amazed the audience with his ability to memorize the entire story and to convey it with such emotion and conviction. The audience was truly captivated by his performance for the entire evening. Most of all Jim's faith and conviction for the gospel, as expressed through Bunyan's tale, was very much evident. It was not only a wonderful performance of a great literary work but a warm and personal invitation to the journey, for those not yet on the road and a great
