This album has been a total joy to make! I am an old sixties rocker and these songs let me express my passion for blues, country music, gospel and soulful ballads while delivering the deepest messages from my heart. I am so grateful for this opportunity and all the support I have received from my family and loving friends. I forgot how great it feels to have a band behind you when you create and record a song. The basic tracks for the up-tempo numbers were laid down at Garrick Alden's studios with Garrick on bass, Andy Hamburger on drums and me on electric piano. I then went home and re-recorded my piano parts on my Kawai grand piano in my living room. Garrick and I would later add instruments (guitar, organ, strings, etc.) as needed. Even though the CD was recorded on a digital hard drive, Garrick uses only vintage instruments--old Fender guitars, Vox, Ampeg, and Fender amps, Neve compressors and vintage Neumann and AKG tube microphones to produce a warmer sound than we could get using just digital equipment. I was sorry when this process came to an end and yet I was thrilled with the results. Hope you like it, too.
