Synopsis

This documentary, part of the Investigative Reports series from the Arts and Entertainment Cable Network (A&E), explores the role that Pulitzer Prize reporter and columnist Jack Anderson played in the life and downfall of former FBI head J. Edgar Hoover. Narrated by Investigative Reports host and producer Bill Kurtis, this video begins in the 1950s when Anderson initially caused problems with Hoover's authority by exposing the massive extent of the Mafia organization in America. Hoover's anger at Anderson's role in exposing this criminal ring lasted for over 20 years. The FBI head harassed and bullied the columnist during this two-decade period, always trying to get even with Anderson for undermining Hoover's reign of power. ~ Cecilia Cygnar, Rovi
