While traveling in Colombia, South America, I met a very intense, expressive, musical, Italian musician; Massimiliano Agelao. He had come to play in a classical orchestra and fell in love with Colombia - and a Colombian - and decided to stay. Massimiliano wanted to know my poetry but since he was not a good reader, he asked me to record some of my poems for him. He wanted to perceive their musicality. The idea struck me. But I agreed to the challenge and back at home in the US I recorded a selection of poems for him. A couple of months later a CD landed on my door. He had set the poem 'No Oigo' (I can't hear) to music. There it was, the poem, the instruments, the music, the voices... I was thrilled. And we started working on the songs, one by one, making changes, sharing ideas. Massimiliano worked the songs in Colombia with excellent musicians, with wonderful voices of his friends and his students. In the end it was my turn in the studio to record the texts that we decided to interweave with the voices and the instruments. With the audio finished, Massimiliano designed the case and the companion booklet, with artist Hector Gaitan. The booklet has all the texts, photos and we even included translations of the poems in English. A series of concerts was done and later the 'Grupo Musicalizando' recorded some of the songs and played them in concerts, fairs, universities, etc.
