Frenchy and the Punk's 'Elephant Uproar' shows off a completely different side than their 2012 release 'Hey Hey Cabaret'. Pounding drum jams collide with vibrant folk punk world guitar and percussion instrumentals that drip with intesity and diversity. The CD opens with the Spanish flavored 'Nevermore the Matador', with it's sweeping guitar melodies and haunting background vocals and then moves onto the driving 'Isis Rising', a rousing belly dance inducing tune. From there the disc unleashes several of the duo's signature drum instrumentals, 'Carnival', an aptly titled tip of the hat to the carnival in Rio, 'Rock Paper Scissors', perhaps the albums most groove oriented track and the title track, 'Elephant Uproar', which conjures images of the majestic creatures breaking the chains of captivity. A spirited, upbeat and highly enjoyable outing from this dynamic New York duo, the disc is sure to be a favorite for those looking for music to choreograph to.
