Howdy friends! Recorded by D.C.'s sonic master Don Zientara/Inner Ear Studios, the Honky Tonk Heroes led by Colonel Josh (of Asylum Street Spanker and Insect Surfer fame) take the old school approach to new honky tonk music. Recorded on a 2' analog Otari MTR 90 tape machine with minimal processing and just vocal and solo overdubs, the Honky Tonk Heroes cranked out 11 songs (8 Colonel Josh originals and 3 covers) in 3 days under Don Zientara's zen like guidance. Don even broke out the 70's spring reverb unit to get that 50's mexican dance hall vocal effect on Vamos a la Playa!
