Review Text
This CD is a union of contemplative/classica/world instruments with chanted prayer calling for God's Mercy on the whole world. Each track has a it's own theme and unique sound. Keyboard, oboe, piano, cello, synth, brass bowl, oceans & and many mystical sounds contribute to a quiet dimension where God can be encountered. The holy death of Pope John Paul II is portrayed with sounds from St. Peters square the night he passed, (I was recording that very night) as well as harp runs as he goes to be in the presence of the Lord. The Oceans of Mercy decade has many water sounds portraying the idea of God's endless mercy. St. Faustina was a Polish nun who was given this prayer by Jesus. She died the night before the first shot was fired in WWII. (at the end of her song on the fifth decade, you will hear machine gun fire in the distance) I played this album at my mother's request, over and over again, the night she died. It has been reported that many death bed conversions take place while the Divine Mercy Prayer is being recited at the bedside of the dying, and that the mood is one of great peace. Both Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary Decade are deliberately slow and meditational. The music is composed to take us deeper into prayer, slowly contemplating God and His mysteries. The Rosary meditation (I have only completed one) is done in a 'you are there' styled narrative, taking you back to the streets of Nazareth as Mary is visited by the Arch Angel Gabriel. I have included all the necessary components to make a five or fifteen decade Rosary CD, a single Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be with the ten Hail Mary's making a full decade, which you are welcome to arrange and distribute to friends.
