Egyptian-born Canadian vocalist Chantal Chamandy performs against the majestic backdrop of the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx in a concert staged to promote peace through cultural exchange. With the Cairo Symphony Orchestra to back her and a troupe of ten dancers to dazzle the cheering crowd, Chamandy becomes the first artist ever permitted to perform at the base of the Pyramids on the Giza plateau. Captured live on September 7, 2007, the performance offers a unique blend of showtunes, traditional Arabic songs, and original compositions, and features special appearances by the Egyptian National Ballet, a Darbouks drum band, Tanoura dancers, and an Egyptian marching band. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
