Review Text
24 track compilation from consummate trumpeter Bobby Hacket explores the beginning of his career, leading his own orchestra in the late 1930s, plus three tracks playing with Horace Heidt, backing Maxine Sullivan, and performing with the Leonard Feather All Star Jam Band. Whether playing on instrumental tracks, or complementing his various band singers, Hackett proved himself as much a master of the trumpet as the great Harry James.
